Mara Ferreri

Mara Ferreri

Dr Mara Ferreri is an urban geographer working on housing struggles and alternatives, temporary spaces and platform urbanism. As a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The Autonomous University of Barcelona she coordinated the Commoning Housing project (commoninghousing.net). Her work has been published in international journals such as City, cultural geographies, Urban Studies and Geoforum. In 2019, she joined the Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences at Northumbria University, where she is Senior Vice Chancellor’s Research Fellow and Chair of the Social and Cultural Geographies Research Group. She is the author The Permanence of Temporary Urbanism: Normalising Precarity in Austerity London (2021, AUP), and founding editor of the Radical Housing Journal.
