Hsin Hsieh

Hsin Hsieh holds a PhD in Film and Theatre studies from the University of Reading. Her research interests include adaptation, film studies, metatheatricality, intermedia, and East Asian cinema and culture. Her recent publications include a chapter in East Asian Film Remakes (Edinburgh UP, 2023) as well as in Studio Ghibli Animation as Adaptations (Bloomsbury, 2025). She is currently working on the edited volume Oceans, Seas and Shorelines in Film (Routledge, 2025). She has been organising research workshops for Intermedia/Interarts Project (UK-China Humanities Alliance, funded by British Council) since 2021.
