Faye Mercier

Faye Mercier is a lecturer in television and cross-media at the University of Amsterdam. Her work focuses on the media industries of South Korea, paying particular attention to both the sociocultural implications and the socioeconomic resonances of various media content. In her more recent work, she has focused on the representation and negotiation of youth precarity in South Korean reality television. Alongside an interest in K-Pop, K-Dramas and Japanese reality television, she has also researched diverse topics such as Brexit, fandom studies and the Irish media industry.
